THIS IS THE BEST SUSHI RESTAURANT!!!!🫶🫶🍣 I am not joking, this is the first restaurant in general that I have been to where the staff ACTUALLY cares about my food allergy. I have been here multiple times, and they do not hesitate to take the extra steps to make sure that I do not get an allergic reaction from cross contamination (by using a clean board, clean knife, etc). Here is a list of amazing staff members that have kept me alive, because accidental cross contamination/ not caring/ not understanding what a food allergy is happens more than you think:
    Stirling (manager)
    Alan
    Paulina
    Alex
    Roman (manager)
The atmosphere is also so clean and relaxing, it is definitely a great place to go out to eat and chat. You're doing amazing sushi freak on Eastlake, I appreciate you🫶

My daughter bring me here for a quick lunch, and oh! Surprise. I taste the best poke bowl I have tried. All the ingredients were fresh and portions are well served. Service was really nice and helpful, as well as fast. Thank you I will visit this place again when I came back to the Eastlake area.

Let me start by saying I could tell everyone was pretty new here, so the rating isn’t as low as I would have probably rated if they had been around for long time. I will definitely try again next time I’m in town to give it another chance and update the review. Here is why Sushi Freak only gets three stars for now…

Pros: Cute little sushi eatery that is aesthetically pleasing. It is pretty roomy, even for being a little crowded when we were there. The staff, albeit seemed pretty new, were very friendly and seemed to be really trying. My husband enjoyed his roll, he got the New Mexican Roll.

Cons: I got the Crunch Roll (a typical roll at most sushi restaurants). I was not impressed for a couple reasons, the first being that the seaweed was tuff, which is typically a sign of it not being as fresh as it should be. Secondly the panko crunch had an odd flavor, it seemed either old or maybe left out too long? The egg rolls tasted like any frozen egg roll and wasn’t bad, just wasn’t something I would order again. As shown in the photo, the ginger was scarce, literally two small pieces were put on my tray. Lastly, the tray itself had a film on it, like it was washed but then dried with a dirty towel, and since there were a lot of people in line, I believe they were rushing so the plating was quite messy.

I reiterate, I believe a lot of this is due to new employees learning, especially could tell this in the cashier who was having some issues and being trained. I would absolutely come back to give a second chance once a bit of the newness wears off.
