The Doves Nest

The Doves Nest is a quintessential tea room on the main square in Waxahachie. That is, the clientele is almost exclusively older white women who have the luxury of lunching at will.

I've been to many tea rooms over the years with my mom, and the drill is the same. Chicken salad sandwiches. Flavored iced tea. Good food. A genteel atmosphere.

I was not disappointed. Food excellent. Service excellent. Good prices. I'd go back.

Very nice store! The store rents out sections of the store to various vendors. Whenever I visit my sister-in-law, we go shopping. The restaurant is excellent, too! I had the artichoke hominy soup that was amazing! I want the recipe! It was not in the cookbook that they sell. ☹️

It was an absolute delight. Well worth the drive from DeSoto. Great birthday luncheon for me.

Cindy and the entire Doves made our wedding day amazing. I planned the wedding from out of state and Cindy guided me to success. From the moment I walked into the Doves Nest to the end of the night I was amazed by the attention to detail given to every aspect of the wedding from the table set up, food, professional staff, all the way to the flowers and decorations. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. We had the beef tenderloin, with mashed potatoes, and asparagus. The meat was tender, the sides perfectly seasoned, and the food came out hot. Our experience could not have been better! We highly recommend The Doves Nest for an exception meal, catering, or event.

Beautiful antique store brunch place! A nice place for a morning or afternoon meal. Lovely atmosphere and great, friendly service. Definitely a favorite of all my female friends.
