DQ's BBQ

“Damn good BBQ! Rib sandwich and chopped beef sandwich, really hit the spot after a long day on the road. The outside of the restaurant has the good smell of wood burning to let you know this place is OG. Will always come in to eat whenever we come through town.”

302 Thai Express

Address: 302 Craik St, Marlin, TX 76661, USA

Restaurant

“First timer here and new to Thai food. Drink: Taro Boba tea. The taro powder is perfection. Unfortunately, they were out of tapioca pearls, so I got strawberry bursting bubbles that complemented the taro quite nicely. I do hope they get some more tapioca pearls soon. I missed the chew. Appetizers: The fried crab rangoons were hands down the BEST I've ever had. They were filled very well with a strong tasty crab flavour and the crisp shell looked hand-shaped and were thin and fresh. I cannot wait until I have these again. The chicken spring rolls (not fried) were okay. They looked great and were full of veg, however they did not taste seasoned in the slightest. The peanut sauce that came with them was also bland and disappointing. Entrees: The chicken chow mein was tasty, if a little basic. Not enough chicken. Noodles were perfect though. The #9 with beef was very spicy but delicious. It's a building spice so I had to eat it very quickly to be able to manage the heat. Jasmine rice was lovely. Not enough beef. The green curry with jasmine rice was so good! The spice on this was said to be a mild, but I counter that it was actually a medium spice. That being said, the spice level was more kind and sank down to the back of my throat as a small tingle, which was nice. The portions could easily be 2-3 servings per entree, so while each entree is $12 (including a meat), this could really be $4-$6 a serving, which is a pretty good deal!”

El Charro Mexican Restaurant Bar and Grill

Address: 113 Texas 6 Business, Marlin, TX 76661, USA

Restaurant

“The service was quick and food pretty good. The queso could use some actual seasoning or some vegetables to provide a more authentic taste. It seemed to taste and look like a package of velveeta cheese. The shrimps were overcooked. They looked burnt not fried but tasted old. They provided a complimentary desert but wouldn't refund the unbeaten entree. The fajitas are really good but you have to ask for extra tortillas. The guacamole looked appetizing but needed seasoning as well. It's nice to see new establishments in Marlin. Just keep improving the quality and taste.”

The Chicken Place

Address: 504 Bridge St, Marlin, TX 76661, USA

Restaurant

“Sunday Fried Chicken???? after church! Woohoo! ????Chicken was crispy & tasty. Hubby had the 3 piece meal (breast, leg, thigh, mashed potatoes, country gravy, fries & a roll) and I had the 2 piece meal (thigh and wing, mashed potatoes, country gravy, corn on the cob & a roll). Both meals were good. Chicken was crispy and moist. The thighs in both meals were a little greasy than our taste but the other pieces were great. I would have preferred a little more seasoning in the breading. Corn on the cob was juicy, no additional butter was needed and I got the last one available, so obviously an item in demand. Staff was friendly, and the inside was clean, including the ladies restroom ????.There is a small banquet hall in the back for large meeting parties (up to 50?) and they also offer catering. Ice cream ????and cobbler are also available for dessert. I will stop by again when I am coming through town on business, plenty of room for parking, including large trucks on the side of the restaurant. Good food and good people here.???? I hope this has helped you, if so please give me a ????thumbs up & also check out my photos. Safe travels, God bless you and God bless our America!”
