Hank's Express

The food has always been delicious and plentiful. The pies are the best you will find anywhere. The people are also very friendly. Don't go there expecting a fancy place. Go there and enjoy the good food.

Small place, good home cooking! Not really a menu, just daily specials. Really good tho! Didn't try any pie, but sure looked good!

A while back this place was a Chinese buffet restaurant with not very good food but the little couple that ran it were very sweet and nice. My parents loved it, but then they never really had a very acute sense of taste.
My parents have since passed away and so has the Chinese food place. But I am very happy to say that the new Hank's Express that has gone in here still has friendly people running it but that the food has improved immensely!
I had just eaten an omelette for breakfast when my sister called and said she wanted to try this restaurant; consequently, I was not very hungry, so I only ordered a chicken salad with fruit. It was very good although a bit heavy on the mayonnaise for my tastes. Still, it was exactly what I needed at that point. My sister had the fixed menu enchilada plate, and said that it was very good.
We were happy to note that every second Wednesday the special is liver and onions, something that neither of us would ever prepare for ourselves but that we both love. We will be going back Wednesday, and I will update this review at that point and add some pictures as well. I gave 5 Stars on what I feel is somewhat shaky evidence, having only eaten there once, and then only a light snack. However, I am anticipating a wonderful meal on Wednesday, so I will also update my stars on that day if the fare disappoints. I'm not expecting it to.
