The Toasted Yolk Cafe

I came here yesterday with my brother. I think the staff is attentive and very friendly, let's get that right. However, I feel they lacked just a tad bit in the most important part of a restaurant, the food. Steak was not cooked to my liking and the donut I ordered was certainly undercooked. Very doughy on the inside. I don't think the overall experience was bad though; this place has great potential. Most of the staff appeared very young, perhaps a lack of experience may have contributed to my poor donut. I'm sure this place will grow!

Nice, clean, new. The setup is very open which made the "ambiance" factor for me an "if." Unfortunately, the day we ate here there was a group right next to us that was VERY loud--which negatively added to the already loud area. Without shouting, my husband and I couldn't hear each other at all. This is the only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars. I'd give a 4.5 if I could because I understand the noise factor may be attributed to the set up of the building itself.

As far as the food--it was delicious, but my quesadilla was not the same caliber as what I am accustomed to at the Houston location--but still good. My husband's dish was scrumptious. He had the Alaskan Arnold. The Belgian waffle we ordered to share was also good. The service was good and besides the noise--we were happy to find this location. Beware of limited parking though and expect to park in the garage.

This place has great service. Food portions are large. It’s very possible to share with someone and be well fed. ???????? We came at about 8:40 am, and the place wasn’t packed by any means. If you’re looking for a chill place with pretty good breakfast and coffee, you’ve found the right place.

It was fairly busy when we arrived at about 10am on a Saturday. However, our wait was under 15 minutes. I noticed that the place looked clean, bright and family friendly. I started off with a good and refreshing mimosa followed by a delicious Philly scramble with perfectly seasoned slices of prime rib and sauteed mushrooms. The side biscuit had a nice outside crunch, and was soft and warm on the inside. Also, the hashbrown casserole was creamy and delicious. I must add that our server, Stephanie, was amazing which enhanced our overall experience.

Nice place that did not have a wait. Service was amazing on a Friday morning. We sat outside and did not have a lack of service. There was a nice crowd but the food came out in timely fashion! The French Toast was really good, as we divided it up just so everyone could get a taste. On top of that they had warm syrup! ???? I ordered the West Coast Arnold which was a recommendation from my younger brother and I must say it was a GREAT decision! The poached egg was perfect with the generous size bacon slices. We also had a few shots and mimosas to start the morning which were both really good. I think we actually had pineapple mimosas. Prices are definitely high, not a bargain place but the food was exactly what I wanted. ????????‍♂️
