Wow! I mean, I expected this place to be good… but to be mind blown? You will notice that the menu is limited (as in not pages long), which in fact makes it easier to decide on what to eat. And let me tell you, when they bring that dish it is a savory as you can get!
We started with the sushi roll- tuna. No words. Better than at a sushi restaurant. So fresh, it melted in your mouth.
The star of the show was the Salmon entree… Oh my gosh, never in my life had I had a piece of salmon so tender, so flavorful, and just so perfect! It came with a wonderful and unexpected Napa salad on the side. A perfect compliment!
The others in my party had the tuna special which they loved, as well as the rainbow trout with mushrooms on top with a lovely potato puree on the side and a jalapeño cole slaw (not spicy).
Wait, I cannot forget the dessert! If you love, Tres leches, get ready for this one… This one is a CUATRO leches! The fourth milk being coconut milk with a sprinkle of coconut flakes. Your life will never be the same!
Everyone left incredibly satisfied. Our new favorite! The service was incredible, on point, and went above and beyond. Do not hesitate, don’t even question it- if you’re thinking about this place, just go!
The service is top shelf. The wait staff pays very good attention to detail. The food is good to great. Definitely coming back to explore the rest of the menu.
Nice place, reminds me of Houston's in the way they designed.
Food was great, had the spicy tuna sushi, and Chicken salad. Both delicious.
Service was great, our waitress was super nice and friendly.
Hostess was very nice and welcoming.
Manager came to our table, and she was super nice and cleaned our table.
Atmosphere is chill, went during the day, sat on the patio, nice breeze. Only thing is it smells funny on the patio. Maybe need more attention on that matter.
Menu is ok in selections but also could be better in terms of variety.
Parking is free, and the valet is available.
Recommend this place for business lunch.
The food at Balboa is excellent. I highly recommend the seafood cocktail as a starter. We later enjoyed multiple sushi rolls and a pineapple upside down cake as dessert. Everything was fantastic and we enjoyed the ambience as well. I would absolutely come back here.
My husband and I decided to celebrate our Valentine's Day early on Saturday and I picked this place since it's fairly new and the food looked delicious. I made reservations so when we got there they found us quick but we did wait about a couple of minutes. The waitress was very attentive as soon as we sat down, we ordered drinks and appetizers which the drinks did take quite a bit to come out because the appetizers came out first but everything was perfect. We ordered the guacamole and corn chowder and OMG, it was the best chowder we have ever had, I wanted a whole bowl lol. We ordered our main course and that I think came out at a good time and we had no issues, the food was absolutely amazing. The flavor and freshness of the seafood were impeccable, we ordered the swordfish and crab cake. Just premium. Then we ordered dessert and my goodness another delicious plate. Our server has great recommendations and was very sweet and attentive. This place is absolutely beautiful, with plenty of seating inside and outside, the wood all over makes it stunning and classy. I am definitely very excited to come back to try other dishes and will definitely recommend to everyone I know.
