Went with a group from work, not knowing what to expect. It was an unusual experience for me, but not bad. First off...be aware that they do NOT remove bones before cooking (at least for the chicken), which was off-putting. The rest of the flavors seemed muted straight from the kitchen. Maybe this is the norm, as evidenced by the availability of a wide range of condiments. Either way, I was not enthralled with either the hard chairs not the essential root level product they were selling.
Oh man, I still remember my first time here. It's a great place for 2-4 people, you start with a clay pot of braised meat and veggies, and once you've eaten miss of the dish, the staff comes out and converts your clay pot (with all the sauces and ingredients left) into a hot pot! Great for if you want a large meal!
Total value for money, we selected the chongqing special, which starts with a dry pot of chicken and then you use the same pot for broth and a selection of meat and veggies to make a hotpot of your choice. Lip smacking!
Really good food here , I like their chopsticks save the environment. Good to have a try. Only thing is it is so busy here, wait around 15 min to get table during weekend lunch hour.
Tried the chicken and beef brisket pots. Both were very flavorful. Come with an empty stomach and large appetite because the portions are pretty generous. I was on the verge of being full before the hot pot part of the meal even started.
