Well, the cuisine served at Carmelita’s is as authentic as it gets! Taking after their father’s Edinburg location, this daughter knows what she is doing! The fideo principio was excellent. The fajitas were perfectly seasoned and not overcooked. Did I mention the rice and beans!?! The flour tortillas are not homemade, but overall you really don’t notice because of the flavor of the food. Definitely worth visiting!👏👏👏”

“The breakfast here was really delicious, the Huevos Rancheros are pretty good and at a good price, for $4.99 you get 2 eggs, potatoes, salad and refried beans (the bacon was $1.50 extra). The eggs were perfectly cooked over medium, the salsa was delicious it had a cumin taste it, the refried beans were simple but good, the potatoes were soggy and not seasoned, the salad was fresh and the bacon was crispy delicious. The coffee was good, the tortillas both corn and flour are store bought, but the flour tortillas were just okay. Overall the breakfast was delicious 4⭐, but I didn't like the appearance of the restaurant as it looks more like a bar and smelled like cigarettes, the place was really dark, the server wasn't very attentive and didn't know the menu well.”

“Love the new location. Went in today for some chilaquiles reketes and the food never disappoints there. Great customer service as always and the food is always prepared perfectly. The new location is super convenient in north McAllen. I can honestly say this is one of the few restaurants that strive for their food quality to always be consistent. I’ve been to all three locations and have been a fan of this restaurant for years. They never disappoint. Keep it up 👍🏼”

“We were served with 2 different salsas and cerviche. We were also given a small sample of caldo to start with. I got the caldo de pescado, 3 fish filets, and rice plate. The soup was delicious, you can taste the fresh fish. The filets are big and rice was delicious. The waitress was always checking to see if everything was fine. They also mentioned that they will accommodate the menu items. They can add or remove an item. The owner is also coming around and checking on customers. I'm definitely coming back.”

The crunch on both the general tso + the sweet and sour was amazing, the fries stayed hot and fresh even though we have been eating for a while, and my drink was great. the customer service is 10/10 and so is the food, this place is definitely worth a try!”
