“One of few options in Jacksboro on a Monday evening. Creole pasta is decent (small for the price), but the shrimp avocado salad is a disappointment. Hardly any shrimp (5 small pieces) and only one slice of avocado. That's some pretty expensive lettuce. ☹️ BTW, they don't mention the 3.5% credit card surcharge when I paid. It was on the check, in very small type.”

“We drove about an hour out there to meet up halfway with some friends that also live about an hour from Jacksboro. The food was good for the most part, I will say I was a little disappointed with my turkey. I didn't think a smoked BBQ turkey would look like it came out of a bologna packaging. Moving on, the people were nice but very, what's the word I'm looking for, aware of our presence there. We had lots of stares as we made our way to our seats and throughout our stay. I would not say it was super uncomfortable but enough to notice their surprise to see such a strange group walk in (2 biracial couples and a mixed baby). Maybe it was because we aren't local, but still I was a little weary. Dessert was amazing though!”

“By far one of my favorite places to eat BBQ! So many “authentic” BBQ places no longer actually smoke their meat in the traditional way but Mesquiteville sticks to their roots. Warning!! You better use a fork because the meat is so tender it falls to apart. Couldn’t ask for better flavors. The Tortados are to die for. Their sauce is so unique and perfect even though you don’t even need it because all of their meats have bold tasty flavors. I can’t say enough about the family that runs it. Super nice and outgoing.”
