The Toasted Yolk Cafe- Lubbock

Ordered the alaskan Arnolf, poached egg on point, salmon well cooked. It was delicious. My hot caramel macchiato was tasty. Service was excellent. I really enjoyed my visit to the toasted yolk. I was in and out for a business trip, definitely coming back to try more menu items.

The Toasted Yolk was quite busy on a Saturday, but we were seated outside right away. It would have been a 45-min wait inside, and the sun plus outdoor heaters kept our focus on our experience and not on the windy January chill. Two of us ordered Benedicts (Arnolds here), and they accommodated us by splitting each order between plates (so we each got two different styles). Coffee wasn't great. Other than one person's food coming out when the rest of us were almost finished, service was good, food was pretty good, portions were filling, and prices were reasonable. They have quite a lot on the menu and I think it is definitely worth returning to try other items.

Landing somewhere between the Huddle Hut and Farmhouse. The coffee tasted as if it was from the morning (almost burned flavor). Eggs over medium were cooked correct. Hash brown casserole is really rich and filling. 4 egg omelet cooked ok. Good food, not greasy, but nothing to write home about. Fully recommend using the online self-checkin. We had a 45 min wait and continued to do some running around. Walked right in 3 minutes ahead of our time and bypassed the lengthy line completely. Worth it.

Since we live right around the corner we had to give it a try and I’m glad we did.

Fair prices, good sized portions, and great coffee. Get there and get there early. We barley missed the rush around 9 am on a Sunday. The place gets busy and the staff works hard to take care of you. Definitely going to be a regular place!
