Allen’s Family Style Meals

This place was a wonderful experience! Family meals with great food and a very friendly staff on top of unbelievably low prices for a meal. If you are driving through STOP here!

This has always been one of my favorite places when I come into town. Everything is always delicious. Especially the peach cobbler, OMG YUM!

Went there the first time last Sunday. The only way I can describe it is Delivered-To-The-Table buffet. The food was too much and just amazing. Good flavor, good quantity. We (us 4) shared a table with a single gentleman. He was very sweet but we never got his name. Runs about $13 each person. Very filling. Very good!

First time here and it was absolutely amazing! We were seated right away and the servers were friendly and fast. We were fortunate to sit along with very friendly folks whom are regulars from Abilene. The food was fresh and tasty (fried chicken and roast) and the side dishes as well. I loved it! I can’t wait for my next go around here!

IT IS NOT A BUFFET, IT'S FAMILY STYLE!

When you enter you will be directed to a table based on the size of your party. The tables are long and seat up to 10 people so you may very well be seated with friends you've never met. The cold salads (cole slaw, pea salad, potato salad) are already on the table. The server will take your drink order and then the food begins to arrive. Their legacy item is fried chicken and it will be accompanied by a beef dish such as meatloaf, brisket, pot roast, etc. You will also have 12-13 sides from which to choose. All food arrives at the table in serving dishes that are passed between diners. The servers will gladly refill any item that runs low.
While the corn and green beans are canned, all other sides are prepared fresh. It's like eating at grandma's.
Best fried chicken. Ever.

Some may be put-off having to eat with strangers, but I disagree. Eating family style is an important part of the experience and you are unlikely to to find this opportunity elsewhere.
