1: our food took an hour to be cooked and to be served. The child’s meal was cold at that. 2: our server and another server kept on filling up our drinks. They never asked, they just did it even when the cups were still 3/4 full. I kid you not, my drink was refilled 7 times and I never got to fully finish it. 3: when we brought up nicely about how long the food was taking, we got a “oh it’s the weekend. They get slammed.” And a shrug of the shoulder and no apology. 4: the manager was seen maybe 3 times the 2 ish hours we were there and not once was there an apology for the long time it was taking to cook our food. This place gets 2 stars because the other times we have gone, it hasn’t been bad. But we brought our friends and they were NOT impressed and would not be returning. You have one opportunity to make an impression and you can’t ruin it. But Abuelo’s did ruin it.
EDIT: The manager did contact me and apologized many times on our experience. He handled it well and he sounds like he is a good manager for Abuelo's. I changed my 2 stars to 4 stars out of respect for the manager.
If you ask me, I give the score a 10, a 1000% magnificent deal.
excellent food.
If I visit the city again, without a doubt I repeat the visit.
Thank you.

Good waitress, customer service that you don't often find any more. Lots of daily lunch specials but top off with the flan for dessert. Not the fastest place for lunch if you're working, but you will get 20 to 25 minutes to devour all the chips and made from scratch salsa. Fajitas and enchiladas are great. Others rave about their seafood selections. Not sure they do any item poorly.
Seems like the recipes have changed. Not as good as I remember.. queso is watery and stuffed chicken is filled of crumbly crusty cheese instead of fresh. Not tasty like before with peppers and spices. Potatoes are definitely not chunky with bits of skin and garlic anymore. Now just pasty and flat plopped on the plate. No more margarita pie. And prices increased .. atmosphere is still lovely. And customer service is phenomenal
Food was so amazing! Our waitress was perfect! So attentive, prompt, A+ in knowledge of the menu, and super friendly. The walls are decorated with fascinating paintings of beautiful families enjoying time and a meal together. My brother, sister in law and niece visited this weekend, this is one of the many places we tried and its now on our list of favorites. Seriously if you have never been then you should definitely try it at least once, if not you are cheating yourself!
