The chili was good, but I expected more options just because of the name. Also, the thickness of the chili was extreme. It felt like I was eating straight up meat. Again, it was tasty...but I feel like something should be added due to it's thickness.

Tolbert's is always in the mix when hubby and I are deciding where to go for our weekly "date night". Can't beat the chili and we also love the onion rings. Tara was our server tonight and she did a great job. She was attentive and very pleasant and gave me an excellent cocktail recommendation. Thanks, Tara!

This five star rating is attributed solely to the original Texas style red chili. On my visit to Texas from out of town, this was one of the things I wanted to try, and Tolbert's did not let me down. The chili was fantastic. Otherwise, the bar is pretty typical as far as beer and other bar food options.

Tolbert's is a neat place to go to in downtown Grapevine if you're wanting to have a good time and drink. Every time I've been there, there's really cool bands playing. Lots of 70's and 80's cover bands, but they're always AMAZING. I always have a great time watching the performances. The crowd is always older (not a ton of younger people there), and it's super entertaining watching them dance in front of the bands. Definitely a non-judgmental crowd. It's normally pretty crowded in the restaurant part, so I usually sit in the bar area at the high tops. Beer selection seems good. Food is decent. Service is usually good. The only thing is it's normally super loud, so you have to yell over each other to have a conversation. Otherwise, it's definitely one of the funnest places in downtown Grapevine in my opinion.

Tolbert's is a good place for you to take your family, if your into live music then go later in evening 645 and after. If you have Kids or prefer to have conversation etc. Or you just want to avoid live music then you might want to go earlier in the night.

The staff is great, friendly and helpful.

The only thing I have negative to say, and I wish this had half star because I would likely go with 3.5 stars is I have been a patron of Tolbert's for awhile. On my last trip in, the sides they were naturally excited about new menu options, the sides left a lot to be desired and some of the main courses were just under whelming.

When I asked what happened they informed me that they had installed a new Chef just a few days before I dined there, and so I'm going to say that it was truly a kitchen situation and that the line cooks had not sorted out the new chefs recipes.

Other than that Tolbert's is excellent! If you have something bad to say about them please talk to the manager and they will figure out a way to make you happy because that's the way they are! The staff there is Amazing.
