Great Somalian comfort food. The wraps and chicken rice burst with flavor.
Warm, inviting hospitality so genuine, that by itself compels me to come back. But did I mention the food is great too?
Went here on a whim because we were attending a performance at a school nearby. We had never tried East African food before, but were very happy with our choice to stop by. The owner was courteous, and quick to prepare our meals which were fresh and hot. My very picky 1st grader had the chicken wrap, and after removing any trace of lettuce (lol) devoured it. The bread used for the wraps is so good! I had the Spicy Red Chicken plate and it was equally delicious. The portion was enough for me to eat dinner, have my husband and teenage daughter pick at when we got home , and then finish for lunch today! I will definitely be returning. One word if you plan to eat there, there is only one small table (not a problem for us, but something to be aware of). Overall this place is a great value, and an opportunity to experience some awesome homestyle cooking.
Came here for crepes (and out of curiosity), which Google said they had.
Sadly they no longer have these. Thankfully, everything else they have is delicious! Their sambusas (similar to Indian samosas) amazing and possibly slightly addictive. Ordering both this and their veggie plate, I was given a chai tea on the house for being a first time customer, and the very friendly lady running the truck made my food fresh. She also informed me of the two hot sauces they have for dipping, a red and a green. Both sauces were delicious and I was delighted to find that the green sauce was quite spicy as I have a high tolerance and most places hot sauces are not up to snuff. The red sauce was more mild but still pleasantly flavorful. The veggie plate was an interesting comparison between a masala curry dish and a stewed roast's veggies served on top of seasoned long grain rice. It also came with a very small side salad.
I highly enjoyed my food here and would fully recommend it for both the flavor and the experience.

Had the beef samosas and spicy chicken with rice. Amazing east african food. A hidden gem!
A little hard to find. And the seating was a bit of an issue. But the food was great. East African Cuisine would not have been my choice for lunch. But I have an adventurous group of co-workers that love to try new places. The Sambusa with ground beef was excellent. The green sauce that came with it was a great compliment. Rice with Spicy Red Chicken... really good! Everything seemed fresh and made to order. Somali Chai tea was very good. Overall good experience. Go try them.
