Awesome Austin restaurant on North Lamar (best location). Great comfort food with colorful people. Perfect for college night out with large crowds and entertaining parents. Good first date place. And a great bar too!

I love Threadgill's! I normally order the 5 vegetable plate, because I absolutely love the choice of veggies that they have, but this time I got the chicken fried steak. It was so good, tasty, perfectly seasoned and the steak wasn't tough or grissly! So good. I try to go there often.

I love this place for exactly what it is. A plate filled hug from your Granny. It’s southern comfort food, with fried goodness and gravy. Also I’ve eaten just a veggie plate (a dinner of side dishes) more than once. The complimentary second servings mean those mashed potatoes or San Antonio squash can be enjoyed to their fullest. I also have had the chance (years ago) to go to a party in the event space at the back. The memorabilia in the place is astounding. An authentic Austin experience. ????

Very varied menu, good food and a treat for the eyes with all the cool wall art. Any fan of Janis Joplin's should definitely try this place, an old stomping ground. They even have a drink named after her that is delicious. Thumbs up!
