SLAB BBQ & Beer

Good food. It has a different approach to Texas BBQ it is kind of a mixture of different styles which is hard to find in Texas. I love the hip hop atmosphere. Be ready to eat when you come in.

The beer was a little pricey. The brisket was lacking in the bark arena. The sausage could use some work on the casing versus filling. It was decent for a place open on a Monday night. It was definitely better than Bil Miller. But it did not meet expectations for a 4 or 5 star BBQ joint.

Most impressive trait this restaurant has is it's speed. Before I sat down they had already had my food coming to me. The BBQ is definitely enjoyable. They aren't trying to shock your taste buds with some crazy fusion attempt but make good BBQ sandwiches at a competitive price. Their beer selection was respectable and the atmosphere was on point. Definitely a place I would go for a work lunch or to take the family for lunch.

SLAB is a great place to stop and quickly get some BBQ. It is not my favorite BBQ in Austin, but after going about 3 times, I would say that this place is really solid and you should find something you like. I really really like their sauces.

Usually if there is a line, it goes by quickly, and the food is delivered to your table really quickly.

Overall, I'd recommend giving it a try! Its not my favorite, but I won't be disappointed to eat here.

Slab BBQ was the best BBQ I have ever tasted in my life. Their sandwiches are amazing, their nachos are great, the staff is wonderful. My shirt has a hint of smoked meats smell now and is making me incredibly happy. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for amazing food in Austin. I'm a fan for life.
