Generous portions and very friendly, conscientious staff. Found the biscuits to be a lot pasty. We like ours fluffier.
My husband and I stopped here for breakfast before heading back to Houston on an early Sunday morning. We ordered online before we arrived. There wasn't a long line so I gave the young man my name for the order, and we waited until it was done because I arrived before the expected time from my online order. My husband ordered the village, and I had a biscuit with a side of scrambled eggs. Whew that biscuit was fluffy and delicious! The eggs were also cooked to perfection, and my husband also enjoyed his meal. Whenever we visit Austin, we will make sure to stop by Biscuits and Groovy. ❤
Portions are great! We ordered two MC Hammer and it was just right for us. The biscuits were nice and fluffy. The eggs could have used a bit more salt but it was tasty! We also ordered the Bee Gee with strawberry jam. Also very tasty!
Be warned though: parking is tight. You can't park in the alley behind and the other businesses around the corner mostly have signs saying X parking only. Might want to park at Duval Market across the street.
We actually stumbled on this place by accident while looking for a breakfast place, and this is why we love Austin! There are food trucks all over the Austin area that will blow you away with their food, and this place is no different. Their biscuit dishes are exactly what you would expect, delicious, creamy, and indulgent. Plus, the guys that were running it were extremely nice and seemed on top of the sanitation required during these times. Highly recommended!
Y’all, this place is amazing! A friend and I decided to take a social-distancing trip to the outskirts of the Austin area to take some photographs. We wanted to try a taste of Austin with some local food that the locals raved about so Biscuits + Groovy it was! Unique food categories and hands down some of the best homemade Bourbon Peach Jam ( I didn’t get a picture of)! Y’all, the orange juice is literally sent from the Gods! Fresh squeezed right there and poured into a cup, 100% hands down the best! I ordered The Gloria minus the chives and it is so much food! My friend ordered The Aretha minus chives and we shared a biscuit covered in the heavenly peach jam! I didn’t get to get a picture of the juice or my friends food because it was so good it was gone before I could get a picture! Do yourself a favor, if you’re in the area, stop by Biscuits + Groovy and get yourself a hearty breakfast, some of the best juice and the best dang jam EVER!! Can not wait to go back to the Austin area and get some Biscuits + Groovy again!
