Blue Gecko

I’m so excited to see that blue gecko is now in Austin. The tacos are delicious and I really appreciate having their bar available in contrast with the food truck plaza across the road that doesn’t offer any adult drinks.

The food here was absolutely delicious. The seating area and overall setup was nice too. We ordered from the food truck and sat outside on the bar's patio and enjoyed the breeze while we feasted on the Adobe Chicken and Baja Shrimp tacos as well as their homemade salsa with chips. The chicken was street style on double corn tortillas. It was juicy, marinated shredded chicken that had a bit of a kick...which I LOVE. The Baja Shrimp was in the puffy taco shell. My husband really loved them. The salsa was good, but could have used a little salt. (That's our preference which is easy enough to add. Others may think it's perfect as is.) They have several choices for drinks at the truck like canned sodas, bottled water, Topo Chico, Corona Beer and White Claws. If you wanted a margarita or other specialty drink you could find them at the bar. I would definitely go here again. There were plenty of seating options, fans, fun outdoor lighting, speakers for music and other food truck options. I definitely see us making this a local hangout.

Just tried this for the first time. Generous portions of chips and queso. I had the Bang bang shrimp (Delicious) and my husband had the Texas Taco. We will be back.

Best tacos in Austin by far. Check them out. You won’t be disappointed
