CARVE American Grille

The menu is great, and the food is cooked to perfection. Staff is on the ball. The GM Justin is a super star and runs a tight ship. A great addition to the Austin culinary scene.

I went here mainly because they have wine on tap and serve half pours, which is rare. The wine selection was quite impressive and the appetizers we paired with our choices were great. I highly recommend taking advantage of the wine flight options. In terms of appetizers we loved the Hog Heaven and the calamari. Specifically outstanding with the calamari was the Asian slaw - it came with a Thai style dressing that made all the flavors just explode.

I wasn't too impressed with CARVE. Went to have the Friday lunch special which was pretty decent. Service was very slow and my lunch ended up being a little over an hour and half.

Although I wouldn't return for lunch/dinner I might return to the bar. They had a great selection of drinks and appetizers.

Absolutely the best happy hour around. $2 off almost everything. We had great cocktails and some very nicely priced wine. You must get the lobster corn dogs, tenderloin toast and hog heaven. Drinks and apps are the way to go!! The crab pasta, gnocchi and burger were all superb. The pork chop left a little to be desired but we're glad we tried it.

Super dank, good portion sizes. Better than Perry's imo.

The food there wasn't just good and cooked well, there was always a little something that made most things extra good.

Really pretty atmosphere too, tons of wine on tap, though I didn't try any. It's a great spot for a business meal (free!) or even a nice date night (not free!).

Next time I come back I'm doing the Board for 4.
