Really nice restaurant with amazing food and ambience. The Kung Pao chicken was really tasty, and the chicken fried dumplings were also good. However the vegetarian people loved the salt and pepper tofu and fried rice. They do have vegan options in cheesecake as well. Overall really good restaurant.
We love all Ling restaurants in Austin. Excited about her new opening at the Grove. Last night we had our daughters birthday dinner at Ling Wu south and let say Martin and the rest of the wait staff were incredible. Best customer service we have ever gotten compared to the others. Not to mention the GM Lee I believe was so inviting!!!
Small selection of dim sum but good. Enjoyed whatever we ordered. I wish scallion pancakes were a bit bigger for the price (and ours was a bit too crispy and on the hard side), the dipping sauce is awesome- wish they gave some rice also to go with the sauce :)
And would appreciate a better selection of teas especially at dim sum time.
hǎochī ... delicious. Look, nothing wrong with mall food court Panda Express type American Chinese food, and sure sometimes you crave a stuff your face buffet. This is neither. But do yourself a favor and try this out. This is a family style Chinese fusion restaurant with such favorites as Peking Duck and Orange Beef. Service was really great and has a great atmosphere and feel with creative cocktails.
But do yourself a favor and make reservations. I was lucky that a reservation had canceled.
Everything we had was pretty tasty. The pecan shrimp was drenched in what I can only assume was mayo-based sauce, so that was a little off-putting. It still had a good flavor though. The glass noodles were probably my favorite thing. I would go back again, but probably will generally stick to Lin's which is closer to me.
