We had heard so many great things about the Comedor that I was concerned our first visit wouldn't live up to the hype. I am so glad to report the experience not only met our expectations, it exceeded them.
We were fortunate to have the weather cooperate, so sitting on the outdoor patio, on a cool, yet comfortable evening added to the experience.
Service was friendly, yet professional. We elected to sample tapas style allowing for each dish to come out as it was ready. My photos don't do justice to the tastes ????
Amazing and worth the visit. Make a reservation in advance, unless you can find a spot at the bar for happy hour (which I need to attend soon). Great atmosphere and environment with a focus on specialty cocktails and exquisite food. Their most popular dish is the bone marrow tacos which we ordered. Loved the margaritas they made, ordered spicy margs and enjoyed. The only pitfall we had was the reservation we made was for the patio. However, when we got there they said the patio was full. Either way, specialty restaurant for special occasions.
Service is a solid 4 stars, bathrooms are 3, food and drinks are a 7 out of 5. Don't leave Austin with out visiting here, small plates are amazing as is the wine list. Cocktails alone are worth a visit. Small plates are where the action is on the menu, they are all amazing, put your focus there and you'll leave happy. Expect to pay about $100 per person, inclusive of drinks.
They earned their number one spot as best restaurant in Texas. Truly inventive and delicious. The chef is a genuine treasure, and the staff is stellar. Just look at this heavenly dessert!! The space and menu, and even the play list is thoughtfully and brilliantly designed. Meant for an intimate shared dining experience. So great!
Beautiful vibes. Gorgeous light on the inside. Love the simple and dark design. The food is delicious. We went with some pros, so I didn’t have to order anything, but everything that was brought out was amazing. Staff was kind and stylish. 10/10 would return. Ps - I never thought I would eat a bone marrow taco ???? and love it... yet here we are (drool... ????) Don’t leave without ordering that dish.
