Fixe Southern House

The service was phenomenal and the biscuits were delicious and made to order which took about 15 minutes to receive once you ordered. I didn’t mind it because I love homemade and fresh food but they still weren’t as good as my homemade biscuits but close lol. I had the red fish over grits which was awesome the fish was cooked to perfection and the grits tasted homemade not from a box like they grounded the hominy themselves before they cooked it. I would most definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves southern food with a twist.

We were really looking forward to trying this restaurant out based upon the reviews and ambiance. We had already looked at the menu before arrival and knew what we would enjoy. When we were greeted by the waiter, he never introduced himself and was quickly put off by us not wanting to order what he had recommended. When I asked for a whiskey sour I said I didn’t mind the the whiskey (being that you can’t really taste the whiskey in this cocktail, which I didn’t say) and insisted I had to pick one off the menu. He seemed very annoyed quickly and immediately put off when we didn’t order the most expensive of items and his attitude changed for the rest of the meal. I am a service manager at an upscale whiskey restaurant and I would hate if my employees treated guests like this. We then decided we were not going to get the items we had chosen before arrival and that we wanted to go somewhere where it was more welcoming. Along with great food, comes great service and hospitality. I won’t say the name of the server because I don’t feel they should be shamed but management be aware. The food was great and the ambiance was beautiful.

The place was great. Great location, good drinks and excellent biscuits as starters. We ordered the heritage pork chops as the entree and I must say I will definitely be back to order again. Kyle was the world's best server if you can get in his section exceptional service !!!

Top-notch Southern cuisine in an upscale environment. They're especially good at accommodating groups. We had 11, and the service was prompt and accurate. Saw other large groups around the restaurant.

Friendly staff and high energy vibes with the open kitchen floorplan. Highly recommend the Heritage Pork Chop -- not sure I've ever ordered pork chops at a restaurant before as I'm usually not a fan. They were tender and tasty and I'd order them again without trying anything else. The biscuits live up to the hype! Order them for the whole table.

A must visit in downtown Austin!

If you want to try really good southern food this is definitely a good choice. The deviled eggs, fish dip, biscuits and red fish were great. Service is amazing. Darren our waiter never missed a thing. The only knock I have is that Southern and BBQ aren't traditionally a formal dining experience.
