Franklin Barbecue

The hype is real with this place. Get. The. Brisket. Our group got the ribs, pulled pork, brisket, coleslaw, and the beans. The brisket is by far the best I've ever had and will be the measure for all future barbecue. The ribs were alright but needed some sauce to round out the flavor. The sides were alright, with the beans being the highlight. I highly suggest getting a dang good pie, wow that's good!

Make a point to come here and get some of the brisket if you like barbecue. You won't be disappointed!

Brisket was moist, tender, flavorful, ribs were as well with a back end heat that we really really really liked. Sausage had great taste n texture. Pinto beans were cooked perfectly and again, nice back end heat, potato salad had a nice consistency but was a little bland to me, I added some mustard, salt n pickle and it was better to my taste. Staff were super friendly at pick up and really seemed to enjoy sharing their bbq with folks. Loved the curbside pick up option as I never have time for 3 hours lines when I'm in Austin for work! Hubs and I were so happy to finally try it!!

I've been waiting to go to Franklin's for years and was extremely happy that I finally got to go there for my birthday. The dining room was closed so we had to do a curbside pickup, which was extremely simple and quick. We didn't get to experience the dinning room, but at least we saved the line 🥲

The Brisket was one of the best I ever had 😋, super tender and flavourful, and I've been visiting BBQ places all around the US. The ribs were good, but a bit too salty in my taste. The Sausages were really good too. We also had the potato salad and the slaw, which were really good as well. Really recommended!

If you're not from Austin and don't have a close place to eat, there's a park just minutes from the shop and you can ask for extra paper and cutlery so you can use the park's table, it was hot but fun.

Let me tell you a little story about a place called Franklin Barbecue! I’ve heard the legends for some time now having lived just up the road in Dallas. Recently, I relocated to Austin and had to go immediately. First taste was the ribs. As I picked that baby up, the meat already started to slide right off the bone. Something I’ve rarely seen. From there, the flavor was out of this world! I couldn’t believe it. No sauce needed to be added to enjoy it fully. The brisket was on par with some of the other places I’ve been but the seasoning was awesome. You won’t be disappointed!

Curbside pickup was perfect, living in the North Houston suburbs it was nice to see a restaurant handle things like downtown Austin. Weird upside to these trying times is Franklin had been on my to-do list for a long while but being 150 miles away we'd never had the opportunity to wait in line for hours, being able to order curbside a week out solved that.

The food was, naturally, excellent as well. Brisket and ribs are fantastic, turkey, sausage, pork and sides were all very good as well. Definitely doing it again in a few weeks.
