I don’t know where to begin this review. The food? It’s of the absolute highest order. The brisket is a thick sliced, exquisitely barked, cut it with your fork, edible treasure box. The specials create a sort of delicious paradox (looking at you Bird’s Nest Sandwich) due to their limited time on the menu, but the unlimited amount of times you want to eat them. A sunset in your mouth, destined to disappear, but leaving behind a promise of tomorrow.
The set up? A food truck. But with corn hole and a ping pong table out back, next to shaded picnic tables to eat and hang out at. Recently a roof was added to stand under while you order, flowers to smell and the best music playing.
Which brings me to what, or should I say who I really want to talk about. Go meet Brad. He’s the owner sure, a visionary chef definitely, the prescient architect behind this whole thing. But over the months of eating his mind altering, mouth watering food, I’ve also had the distinct pleasure of talking to him, and he is so much more. Family man, generous, hard working, creative and caring, the best kind of guy. Support this business, support Brad. You might go there to satisfy your hunger but you’ll leave with a satiated soul.

Lifelong Texan, been eating barbecue for 20+ years, former cook, I generally consider myself someone with a good taste in food; best barbecue I’ve ever had, easily. Like, wow.

Try the lamb sandwich if it’s offered.

I've been living Austin for over 20 years. I've even worked for some of the local BBQ established names. Jims Smokehouse is hands down the best BBQ I've ever had and the service is top notch. Its pretty rare these days to be able to get checked out and talk to the guy who smoked and prepared your meat. Its the exact Texas BBQ experience that you're looking for.

Stopped by here on a whim because of the good reviews. Really happy that I did. One of the tastiest barbecue sandwiches I've ever eaten. A little different from the norm and every bit of that difference was good. It was real Texas food with just a hint of the islands. Did make me wish I had hopped over to nearby lake Travis and sat by the water while I ate.
