The BEST food I ate in Austin was Meat & Bread’s grilled cheese with meatballs. This is a lunch spot so don’t make the same mistake I did by showing up in the later afternoon. They serve until the food is gone. The owner was gracious enough to find enough to make a plain grilled cheese and a meatball. Great little spot that you must check out when downtown ATX.

Friendly staff and great service! And amazing sandwiches! My first was a porchetta sandwich…delicious! Indoor and outdoor seating. Easily seen from Nueces St on W 3rd St. Parking downtown isn’t free so keep that in mind. But if you live downtown, you can walk or ride your bike there :-)

Was trying to decide between the meatball sub and a grilled cheese but they suggested doing a grilled cheese with meatball sandwich and it was way better than what I was expecting! The folks are super friendly and add a spark to your day. Great food, amazing service, highly recommend!

I was just thinking about how we could use a sandwich shop over here and king and behold they just opened today!

I am super picky about my sandwiches, and was a little scared to try their menu because it isn’t traditional. But I was SO happy I did because every bite of this sandwich was outstanding.

I ordered the buffalo chicken (I don’t even like buffalo chicken but I liked that it had slaw on it). Wow! This was the perfect mix of savory with a little kick, but with their own spin on it. Even the sauces on the side paired perfectly. The bread is fresh and has the perfect texture. The sandwiches are served hot with pulled meat and taste great with a side of chips. Everything blends together for one awesome taste.

The Sandwich is prepared right in front of you at the counter and the space is clean and modern. The staff seemed excited to be there and was very nice! The service was fast, too.

I’ll definitely be going back to try more.
