Shan China Bistro and Bar

We had a delightful experience here at Shan. The combination fried rice was delicious, offering a perfect blend of flavors. The sesame chicken had just the right amount of sweet flavor, and the egg rolls were pretty good, accompanied by a great sweet sauce. My only complaint was that the iced tea wasn't great. Overall, I highly recommend Shan to others wanting a good Chinese meal.

We liked this place a lot. We ordered three appetizers, pork egg rolls, fried pork dumplings and fried tempura. Our favorite was the fried pork dumplings. The dipping sauce was delicious! The tempura was really good, too. The pork egg rolls were okay but not the best I’ve ever had. The sweet and sour sauce was too sweet and there was no sour.
I ordered the Mongolian beef and it was outstanding. It was very tender and the sauce was great! My companion ordered the braised eggplant with garlic and chili. The eggplant was cooked perfectly. The only drawback was that the sauce was too sweet and needed a little umami.
Overall we liked the food and will be coming back.

I am very happy to have another good, authentic Chinese restaurant in Lakeway. The dishes are decent value because you do get a lot for the price. Everyone in our party likes what they ordered. We will definitely be back for dine in & take outs!

As Good As It Gets

• Fish Filet in chili oil (spicy fish)

No Brainer, Must Order Again

• Spicy Lamb with Cumin - portion size became smaller
• Singapore Noodles (ask for Extra Spicy)
• Pork Egg roll
• Shan combination fried rice

Ok - Meh

• Steamed dumpling with juicy pork. No soup in it
• Mongolian chicken
• Wonton soup. Light on flavor

Good fresh food with authentic flavors, my only complaint would be their Chef is a little heavy handed with the garlic and cooking oil.. i’ll definitely be back. I want to try their duck.

I wish they served brown rice🤞🏼

FYI: very nice liquor store well-stocked next door.
