The Jackalope

Love this places food. Obviously if you want to avoid the super busy alcohol fueled 6th Street crowd, go on a weekday or Sunday. Or early Friday/Saturday. However, there's fun to be had when it's busy too.

Great place for burgers and beers mid-day on 6th Street. Love the bartenders and the random cult movies playing at any given time. If you have never been, then stop reading and go there

Lovely dive bar, hole in the wall vibe, very nice and friendly bartenders. They have a giant shareable cocktail, good for party of 4+. Good food too. We visited here on a Saturday afternoon and found 2 hour street parking which is really convenient. In the bar they also have a huge Jackalope which you can ride!

This place is truly a dive that is not to be missed in Austin. Weird surprises to see everywhere you go, including the mascot jackalope. There’s a type of drink for everyone, and unexpectedly great food. I highly recommend the Mac and Cheese burger, it’s unique and scrumptious! And any place with a disco ball is automatically labeled cool.

Decent selection of local beer. The music was good and there is a Little room for dancing but if dancing is not your thing you can lounge on the bench that's along the wall or sit at the bar. Have fun and take a picture with/on the Jackalope.
