I've only tried two different sandwiches, but the Menage a Trois is my favorite so far. It's really tasty and much different than what your ordinary sandwich shop offers. There's so much variety here and they all sound and so far taste really good. This place is a great place to go because it's still relatively unknown. Almost never a line and it's eons better than your run of the mill sandwich shop.
NEW FAVORITE SANDWHICH SHOP!!! Guys if your in the area you must stop here. The sandwhiches are delicious, the drinks are refreshing and the salted caramel cookie is fantastic. This place is Vegan friendly with plant based proteins as well as all the regular meats your heart desires. I love the Mandarin juice mixed with Sri Lanka black tea. Will be coming back soon!
We discovered Ike's sandwiches in san Jose, California from a local's recommendation years back. We have been loyal fans from the our first sandwich and have them every chance we get. The menu is filled with multiple choices for all tastes. We've gone so far as to fly a couple extra sandwiches home. We were thrilled to find one finally opened here in Austin. I'm already planning another visit.
Wow! The menu can be a bit much, but the staff waiting on me was super patient and answered all my questions.
Get ready to sit down and enjoy a sandwich! We got the Matt Cain and the Steph Curry. The sandwiches come roasted. Got the Dutch bread with the Matt Cain and wheat with the Steph Curry.
Both sandwiches were excellent, but messy. Unless you possess magical ninja magic powers to contain your sandwich bits, you are going to want to sit down to eat this.
Clean restaurant, great staff!
Note: this review focuses on Ike's vegan options, but they have amazing meat sandwiches too, according to my husband.
Austin has a great vegan food scene but something it sorely missed was a decent vegan sandwich. Most places offer some variation on a veggie sandwich, which usually consists of veggies and hummus, and it always sucks.
Ike's doesn't treat vegan options as an afterthought. They have a whole host of vegan meats and cheese that create these amazingly filling and delicious sandwiches. I have tried many of them over the years and have never been disappointed.
I am so grateful that this new location opened up so I no longer have to drive out to Cedar Park (or fly to California) to get my Ike's fix. This is the best sandwich in Austin, hands down.
Aside from the awesome food, the staff is super friendly, location is great, everything is awesome. Go try it out.
