Delicious Navajo cooking (they do standard diner food too). We had the Navajo taco and the Navajo beef sandwich. Both were huge and tasty. Very friendly staff - even got to meet the chef!

We stopped here on our way to monument valley for a quick bite to eat since there aren’t a lot of options around. They had cold beer and amazing fry bread! I got the birder on dry bread and it was delicious, i’d highly recommend. Our waitress was really nice and friendly and took time to ask a about our trip. We felt very welcome there!

We’ve been in Mexican Hat a few days there is lots to do. It’s now late March most everything else is closed. Everyone at the San Juan Cafe is delightful the food is good, basic, and hearty. We’re staying at a nearby RV park and stopped in at 7:30 for dinner. Unfortunately they closed at 7:00 but graciously offered us takeout. Since we’ve had a breakfast and dinner both delightful.

We were heading for Valley of the Gods, & stopped here for lunch, we were the only people there. Garrett greeted us with smiles and gave us the best seats in the place, with a river view. He recommended the Navajo taco, this is a new way of looking at tacos, & I may like it better then tacos back home ( don’t tell anyone I said that)

When we left, I asked for recommendations for what Garrett thought was cool, he suggested “Moky Dunway” at the end or being of Valley of the Gods , depending what way you go. I’ve got to say it was thrilling, scary, & Beautiful driving through there, and totally worth it. So I say, stop by San Juan Cafe, talk to Garrett. Thank you for your time and service Garrett.
