I had the Torta con Adobada (marinated pork), it was delicious! They put lettuce, tomato, avocado, and sour cream, and I added plenty of pickled jalapenos and some diced onions from their open salsa bar. I'm constantly on the lookout for good tortas and have tried nearly every restaurant in the area that offers them, this was one of the best! The bread was soft and fresh, nicely grilled, and the meat was flavorful and could've been eaten just by itself (and there was a good amount of it on the torta). My wife had the Chicken Burrito, which she enjoyed. For our kids we ordered a cheese Quesadilla and some chips and salsa. Oh, we also tried their horchata and it was excellent! Really struck a great balance of sweetness and cinnamon flavor. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Okay, I'll bring honest and upfront with all of you...
I had low expectations... (I am that way with every place... Sadly)
I was expecting this place to be a 3*, C- place that I'd probably never return... But I have to tell you that the food that I just tried was truly remarkable!!!
Their enchiladas, are divine!!! (Although, i don't really like that white mayonnaise looking stuff they put on top... But that is besides the point. Haha! The rest of the stuff was truly remarkable, and made up for it.)
The chicken taco was great, and I loved it! I love their salsa from the salsa bar!!! My only regret is that i didn't grab more of the salsa.
(There is a small little sign that asks us not to take more than we need, and I did my best to respect the sign... But maybe I grabbed too little.)
The horchata, i felt was a little watered down though... I wasn't all that impressed with it...
Honestly folks... Check this place out, for it's amazing! I truly believe it's one of -if not the best- in Utah County for this style of food... And I've been searching for years.
I ate here for the first time today. I'm always looking for a good menudo and Laura's was fantastic. I also had a rajas tamale. My grandma is from Mexico and had her own restaurant... Tamales were her specialty. I've tried 50 different Mexican restaurants and 50 different tamale's... Each time I was extremely disappointed... They were always thick with masa and very little meat. I had given up trying to find my Nana's tamales.... Until today!! Even though I only had one tamale (rajas), it was the most fabulous thing ever!! I felt like I was in my Nana's kitchen all over again. I'm going back and will never leave!!
Love this place! Favorite Mexican restaurant in Provo! Owner and his wife are really friendly. Great tasting food. Wish they didn't run out of tomales at times, but understand with how popular they are. Try it!
Great food. I love "real" authentic Mexican food. The price is great and the food is even better. I haven't tried very many Mexican restaurants in Utah County, but this place was awesome. I tried the steak tacos which I loved and would recommend to anyone. My wife had a tamale which was to die for as well. We will definitely come back and visit again!
