“The owner of The Pizza Man is a very intelligent business owner. I have watched the place transform from what used to be a greasy chicken restaurant to a decent family restaurant. They added a nice outdoor seating area, a bar, and an ice cream window. (Ice cream there tastes particularly good this summer... Maybe a new supplier.) These decisions have made it a restaurant that is a must go to place in the Lyndon area in summertime and a place to sit and grab a drink with friends during poor weather. Their business has seen much growth over the years due to these additions. Moreover, the steak sandwiches are delicious. I am also happy that they decided to put a new roof on, as it has really improved the look of the building. Two critiques though. The potato chips they serve are gummy and super oily and every time my family goes there we don't bother to eat them. Second, The Pizza Man needs more special events! Lyndon has very little entertainment, so it should find out a way to provide that to the public... Trivia Night, Competitions, Music.”

“Went on a Saturday night, which proved to be busy but not unmanageable. We had a reservation but probably would not have needed one. Classy and hip decor, not too noisy, and a nice split level design really make this place feel cozy. The hostess told us seafood was their specialty. I had heard some mediocre reviews, so I decided to go all in and try the stuffed squid. To my pleasant surprise, they nailed it. Tender, perfectly cooked tubes bursting with delicious tomato and rice. Just right! I've had some terrible squid dishes in five star Italian spots, so this was a real testament to their quality here. Otherwise, the drink list is very well stocked and cocktails will definitely satisfy. Plenty of local flair on both, of course.”

The food is amazing and it is a must try place to go. We make it a point to go here every time we visit Vermont. It is so nice to eat at a place where you hear the cook in the back singing and your food is served with a smile. They make everyone feel welcomed and at home. They sell homemade bread that is to die for. A perfect little diner in a perfect little town.”

“We drove 30 miles out of the way to eat here. They have my favorite pizza here, the Vermonter which is outstanding. Other food I've had here is equally good. The service though leaves a lot to be desired. I have just waited 15 minutes for a piece of cake. I could see the waitress laughing and joking with other employees in the kitchen area. When she finally brought the dessert I asked her what took so long and she told me they had to whip the cream. It doesn't take that long to whip cream and if it did she could have come back to the table top let us know that.”

“Grocery store isn't really what it is. It's a maple syrup shop. They have the best setup: just go in, leave cash (or PayPal or check) and take your syrup. It's awesome to see places still functioning on the honor system. And you get to check out all the equipment they use to harvest and prepare the syrup right there in the same one-room building. It's pretty great. As is the syrup. We made pancakes and they were fantastic! Get a gallon of this stuff if you can.”

“When at Burke Mountain the Tamarack Grill is a great place to go to. It offers a relaxing atmosphere by being above the main lodge and away from the general hustle and bustle. “Excellent food, relaxed atmosphere. Arrived just after 4pm on a Thursday, ordered drinks and wings with the sauce on the side. Wings were delicious. My wife had the Cobb salad, I had the Salmon special. Both were amazing! During the meal, the chef came out and checked to see what I thought of the Salmon chutney sauce he had created that day, it was fantastic. It was fun to chat with him. Ended the meal with their brownie sundae, yummy! I enjoyed our meal and the experience, will be going back soon. Wish I had taken pictures, the presentation of the food was appetizing. If you have the chance, check this place out.”

Seating in this particular Subway is lacking- large parties may want to reconsider. The dining area and restroom were mostly clean, but could have been cleaner. As usual subway seems to me way overpriced. Almost $25 for two veggie wraps with chips and drinks. Three stars for a completely mediocre yet overpriced experience.”
