“Vermont Pie & Pasta Company is a decent restaurant that has a very friendly staff. Despite their name, they don't just carry pizza and pasta. They have seafood, poultry, steak, burgers and sandwiches which are pretty decent. The food and beverages are usually served from the kitchen to the table in a timely manner. They have good selection of beer, wine and spirits which are pretty decent. I would advise against consuming beer on tap because their tap system doesn't keep the beers from kegs cold. They pour beer in frosty glasses which is technically the incorrect way of serving beer. Frosty glasses causes beer to foam and go stale which is what craft beer fans hate. Beer should always be served cold straight from the bottle, can or tap system. They need a better tap system that would keep beers from the kegs cold. I would advise that you order beer from the bar in cold bottles or cans. Overall, this is a decent restaurant to stop in for lunch or dinner on your way to and from Quebec. It is right off I-91 in Derby Center, Vermont on US-5/VT 105 and you can't miss it.”

“The play area is open and my grandsons always enjoy playing in there. The restaurant is usually kept pretty clean. The bathrooms have issues occasionally. The food is hit-and-miss. All in all it is a pretty decent restaurant especially seeing how it is only 1 of 2 Fast Food burger places in the area. That's typical for the Newport Derby area though, nothing for the kids to do.”

“We went to this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend and I'm glad we did. We arrived at supper time on a Sunday evening and found the place very busy. We were seated at a table for two in some very comfortable leather chairs. We had a beer each and made our order. I had farm style, fresh haddock filets baked with milk & butter and my lady had the Chicken n' Biscuits both great choices and delicious. This was rounded off with an ample selection from the open salad bar. The total came to $60 including drinks, tips and tax. Lastly I want to add that the service was friendly, helpful and efficient. It was an excellent experience. I'll be going back. I want to try their Sunday Breakfast Buffet.”

Order their excellent Riesling and share a delectable piece of chocolate cheesecake. You won't be disappointed. You can take your time and have a conversation with your sweetheart. Jay Village Restaurant is certainly a place to enjoy yourselves in the summertime. In the winter ski season it might be a bit busier but you can expect the same great service. In an area of the world prized for its beauty it is like a five mile stretch of river cut short on either end. I recommend WillowVale for a romantic getaway or a family vacation. Don't bother bringing your fishing poll though as there's no fish in the lake.”
