Best sandwiches and appetizers ever! I wonder if they make their gluten free bread. It's the best I've ever had. We might camp out in the Walmart and eat nothing but roots. Seriously great service, clean water, and beautiful place.
Normally love, but my last visit this past weekend was disappointing. First, I always eat soup wherever I go...their recent offering was an epic fail in my opinion...tomato based with summer veggies and white beans...would have been perfect if they had stopped there, but they added pepperoni and salami...my 1st thought? WHY? Ruined it IMO
I’ll never make fun of Rutland again!
Best burger in a long time!
Love this place. Stylish, well-designed space. They thought of every detail. Even the undersides of the wooden tables are covered in carpet for sound dampening.
My burger was perfectly cooked to medium-well as I asked. Remained flavorful and juicy. I added a sift cooked egg and goat cheese, and it was awesome—messy, but awesome.
Small, but well-curated and local draft list.
Roots has been a must go for us every summer for the past 4 years. The service is phenomenal and their new location is stunning. The bar is outstanding with their specialty drinks making it worthwhile to stop in by themselves. The food is equally exceptional. The menu has something for everyone. My wife, being a picky vegetarian, has never found a problem finding a well-crafted, delicious entree to suit her. I’ve gotten different appetizers which were all great (the cheese fondue and the black bean cakes being among my absolute favorites) but, I always get the same main: VT Maple Braised Pork. It’s got everything: a little sweet, salty, sour, and earthy. An amazingly balanced and delicious meal. It would be my best requested last meal, bar none!
Inviting and cool atmosphere. 5 star service. Amazingly fresh food. Great vegetarian, gluten free, and dairy free options. Definitely recommend, we will be back!
