Very cute and comfortable restaurant, but the food was just not great. Steak brunch bowl: seriously over cooked mushrooms and steak. Chicken and waffles: tasty chicken on top of the palest waffle I’ve ever seen. Was supposed to come out with homemade apple syrup and didn’t. The shared biscuit plate was good, though. Would not return.
Great food, great service, and pleasant atmosphere.
Quaint breakfast spot near UVa campus, situated in a colonial era/style house.
My wife and I shared the biscuit plate complete with 4 biscuits, strawberry butter, blackberry preserves, pulled pork gravy, and 2 slices of Virginia ham. Excellent!
Our daughter had their version of eggs Benedict which were simply amazing!
All in all a just a wonderful dining experience.
The setting is comfortable and homey, the staff is well trained and attentive. The brunch menu is lovely, with a variety of pleasing options. The quality of the ingredients and the skill of cooking were both top notch. A fabulous place for brunch, either on your own, with friends, or a spot to take Mom for a special occasion. Listen when they say they recommend reservations - they mean it.
We shared the brioche french toast (the syrup was phenomenal) and the south be Southwest. The food was delicious. They were pet friendly and the service was unobtrusive but prompt. Great brunch. Will definitely be back.
