Renewal

So we stopped here for a few drinks. The beer selection was great. Lots of local brews. All micro brews on tap. We were able to sample multiple beers at a fair price.

*** UPDATE*** I didn’t contact Aaron since I didn’t see his message until this morning. Yesterday I decided to give them another chance and met a colleague for lunch. Brandon our waiter was phenomenal, very attentive and polite. I had the Diablo burger and my guest had the shrimp poboy and both were amazing. Got back late from work so decided to eat dinner here too. The Shrimp and Grits was delicious, thick hearty grits with fried shrimp and an arugula blend on top, different than any S&G that I’ve had before and in the top 4. The crawfish Mac and cheese was very satisfying as well. Our waitress was very polite. Everyone has an off day and I’m guessing Tuesday morning was exactly that for them***
Staying at the hotel, decided to try breakfast Tuesday morning. Got down to restaurant at 7:30am sat for 25 minutes before a waiter showed up. Didn’t go to my table first went to another table that just sat about 5 minutes prior. When I said “excuse me I’ve been waiting 20 minutes for you” his response was he was running food for room service. At that point I didn’t have time to eat so can’t rate the food. The service however was terrible.

We were staying at the hotel and decided to check out Renewal for lunch yesterday. 3 out of the 4 in my party ordered Burgers. My 13 year old said that it was the best Burger she had ever had! Which is a good compliment coming from her! My wife and I also thought it was one of the best Burgers we have had a well. I ordered the diablo burger without the jalapenos and the flavor was right on point. Super thick burger and cooked just right! They also have a good beer selection as well. Food was a little slow, but we know it was being cooked to order, so no big deal. We left satisfied and would come back again when in the area.

Amazing wine collection. Erica is extremely knowledgeable and passionate. The collection is changing to now include California, west coast, and even Virginia (prev was all Europe). New chef Michael brings a big Louisiana and Florida influence.
