My wife and I stayed in the Draftsman Hotel in mid-June. We had dinner one night at The Ridley, the restaurant in the hotel. I always order one Bombay Saffire martini at the beginning of the meal. The martini came in a smaller glass than a normal martini glass. I didn't want to complain, but when it was soon gone, I ordered another. When I got the check at the end of the meal, I was surprised at the total. Carefully examining the bill, I saw that EACH martini had cost $16. So about one third of our bill was for the two martinis in little glasses that were only mediocre at best. Just for comparison, the next evening we ate at one of the finest restaurants in Charlottesville. The one martini I enjoyed that night cost $8.00.

This place was great! NOT! Spent too much on lobster from Idaho and potatoes from Maine! Cheap! Guess there’s no dress code their either. Staff was great, can say I will be bringing the family back. Wahoowa!

Great atmosphere here, an upscale feeling without being pretentious. The food was delicious, and while I have a few qualms, like the roasted tomatoes not having much color, or the deviled eggs seeming a bit small for a "share with the table" option, it was over all well executed and very enjoyable.

My main objections are the limited cocktails, a lack of a gluten free dessert, and a server who was away from the table more than I would have expected on a slow night.

Given that this restaurant has only been open for a few months, I can only imagine that it will get better over time. I really do encourage you come out and give them a shot, especially if you love seafood, or finally want to try a tomahawk steak.

Went in on a whim and was shocked in house nice this place is and how good the food is. If you go for brunch you have to get the cinnamon roll pancakes. On top of the great food the employee that helped was very knowledgeable about the wine list which is huge with my partner.

Amazing food and great service. Hands down one of the best Mac and cheese's I have had. The staff was super accommodating in moving our table inside after it had started raining and our server gave us great recommendations. We ordered the raw oysters, cauliflower steak and the sea bass, each dish was well presented, fresh and delicious. If you're looking for a place to eat in c'vill you must try them out! Will definitely be going back.
