Great atmosphere. Excellent service (our waiter perfectly timed his arrival and knew what we needed before we even asked). And the food was so good I can't even describe it well enough to do it justice.

We really like coming here. It is the first place to come out of the mouth of my 12 year old granddaughter! I have taken all 3 of my grandkids several times. I do wish the pictures on this site named each dish. I see many I would love to try!

Authentic, delicious food, great food and drink specials, fast friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We had a large group of 20 with reservations. When we arrived everything was set up and ready for us. Tortilla chips, salsa (excellent) and white sauce (interesting, sweet and spicy) arrived expeditiously, and drink orders were taken, which came quickly as well. The Margaritas were strong and made with quality tequila. Food did take a bit, but it arrived piping hot and rather simultaneously,a feat when serving 20 people and most ordered something different. Everyone was quite pleased, and I didn't hear a single complaint, rare for a large group of people. Definitely recommend El Caporal, and will definitely be back!!! Thanks for the great evening guys!

Absolutely LOVED this place, the staff and the food. To fully understand what I'm saying I'll have to elaborate a little.
At 9:00pm on a Monday night and they close at 9:30pm, my family and I go up with a total group size of 9 adults and 6 kids and and I'm totally waiting, expecting for the manager to say, "Sorry with your size group it is too late to serve you". What were got was,
Come in, we'll move tables together to get you seated. My wife asked about going outside, again he said Oh sure, go out take as many tables as you need or we can put tables together to seat the adults and children, whatever you like.
Like I said at the beginning, every trip I take from now on to Colonial Heights, this is where my family and I will be eating.
The wait staff was great, friendly and very accommodating. The other surprise is even though it was late, they never once tried to hurry us out or make is feel like we were impeding them from closing and going home. ❤❤❤

Good food, friendly staff, fast service, got prices.

Went in on a Wednesday for $1 tacos and $2.50 draft beer. Both the hard and soft tacos were good. Chicken was tender and moist, but to the point of being too moist for tacos as the soft shell tacos were soggy. Beef, on the other hand, was perfectly cooked and decently seasoned. Lettuce could have been shredded better, but that's a relatively minor issue overall.
