“This is a beautiful venue for events and a great place for golf and living. The homes are spread out so that some are lakeview and some are secluded. The venue divides so that they can accommodate multiple parties at the same time with no interference. This could also be a good site for a wedding. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive.”

“My husband and I were looking for a great breakfast place in Ashland, VA, and discovered The Broken Egg Diner. What a great find! The waitress was very friendly, the food was plentiful and good, and the service was fast. We both had 2 scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, a sausage patty, and two strips of crispy bacon. I had grits and toast (and the grits were cooked and seasoned perfectly--that is so rare!); and he had country-fried potatoes and a biscuit. We would not hesitate to eat there again!”

“Went here for first time with family. We were visiting and my cousin recommended the place. Everything tasted great! Fish was fried to perfection. Normally i dont like restaurants sides but the cabbage and sweet potatoes (a little too sweet) were very tasty. They give you a nice portion as well. Will definitely recommend and will come back if I’m ever in the area again. Only reason not 5 star is because they were missing a lot if food items.”

“This is an older unit that has been fully remodeled to one of McD's more contemporary layouts. I know the franchisee personally: he started as a worker for the previous franchisee, became a unit manager, and was so good that his boss made it possible for him to buy a unit when the boss was splitting up his large number of units to divide among his children. The guy runs his stores with the same focus as when he was an assistant manager, and he brings along employees same as he was treated.”

My crabcake was small and had quite a bit of filler, especially compared to another nearby local restaurant. Husband said he really enjoyed his fried flounder sandwich with fresh cut fries. “Have been here twice, the food is great and the children love being able to watch trains while they eat. But it is absolutely the slowest service of anywhere we have ever been. Only ordered simple foods each time (sandwiches for adults and chicken strips for kiddos). That's only 2 adults and 2 children, and 35 minutes first time for food and 50 minutes second time. Unless you have a lot of time to kill, don't recommend for regular stop.”

“We were just passing through and needed a quick lunch that wouldn't hurt our diets. We avoided most of the menu and ordered salads with grilled chicken. They were very fresh and tasty. The chicken was juicy and nicely seasoned, not dried out. I imagine that their pizza and other foods are fine too, but they were not what we needed at the time.”
