Great ocean side place to get your seafood fix. Good food and service, bean bag toss for entertainment and an open bar facing the water. Would return if I find myself I nthe area again.

My sister and I stopped for dinner and it was an amazing experience. Jason and Amanda were both lovely and made us feel right at home. They were more than accommodating we had a great time thanks to them and would definitely recommend to a friend ???? If you’re in Virginia it’s worth the stop

On our final day of our trip to VA Beach, my boyfriend and I decided to venture across the Chesapeake tunnel to Cape Charles. Our destination was to get to The Shanty. Success! We got exactly what we were looking for; fresh seafood, full bellies, and a beautiful view. We started out with the calamari which tasted so fresh and was unique due to the fried slices of jalapeño. I had a half-pound of steamed shrimp which did not disappoint. The show-stopper of our lunch was my boyfriend’s entree: the crab cakes. Served on a bun with a side of THE BEST FRENCH FRIES, he admitted that these were the best crab cakes he has ever had.

Not only was our food delicious but the view and service was great! Definitely a laid-back type of spot you would find the locals at. 5-stars from two Texans.

Food and staff are great. Had the lobster roll the fist time then went back and had shrimp tacos. Husband had the crab cake sandwich and then tried their burger. Food was fabulous. Recommend them highly

Hopping Local joint. We ate at the new chart room outside bar which has a limited menu. This is made up for by the live music, bay breeze and amazing view of the sunset. Good drinks. Tokyo tuna nachos were a very different but sweet and spicy treat. Will definitely be back in the future.
