Dona Elida - Restaurant & Pupuseria

Very well seasoned food. Went with my family. My wife's favorite was the soup. Mine was the beans. Can't wait to go again!

My fiancé and I went in for a late dinner last night (8pm Sunday). There was only one other table in the restaurant--a large group of about 10 or so that looked like they had just arrived right before us. Tanya greeted us, brought us to a table, and took our drink order. We both got ginger ales and I was so happy, because it came in a can with cups of ice on the side. (I don't know why ginger ale from a can hits different, lol.)

We ordered the big entree for 2 (called The Molcajete), which includes asada steak, grilled chicken, chorizo, shrimp, rice, beans, salad, and tortillas; and the Locas Pupusas (pork and cheese-filled). Tanya told us she would bring us some complimentary chips & salsa, as the kitchen was very busy making the large party's order and may take a bit longer getting our meal out. I thought that was really thoughtful of her, as this is something that doesn’t come automatically. The chips & salsa took a little longer than expected, but when they came, we saw why. The tortilla chips were fresh from the fryer. With just a pinch of salt, they were delicious. The salsa was also hot... which we thought was rather interesting, since salsa is usually served cold or room-temperature, not cooked... But it was extraordinary, and in fact, the best-tasting salsa we've ever had.

Although our food took a bit long to come out, it didn't even phase us, because Tanya had already let us know, accommodated us with more chips & salsa, stayed attentive to us, and always blessed us with genuinely friendly conversation. Her customer service was quite stellar and I think she is a great representation of the business.

Our food came out in a beautiful presentation and looked amazing. And it was SO GOOD. The chorizo was especially tasty, and the pupusa was one of the best I've ever had. Definitely worth the price, as we were even able to take some of it home for awesome leftovers, which held up very well and tasted just as delicious as the night prior. And that salsa is still amazing cold from the fridge!!

Overall, the food is top-notch, but the warm and welcoming customer service really makes this place special. We will definitely be coming back and recommending it to our friends!

Received excellent service and delicious food. Ample seating and nice atmosphere. Highly recommend their Nachos. Manager swung by the table and was super friendly. This place did not disappoint.

Best and freshest Mexican food around. Highly recommend the pupusas. Now our new family favorite.
