Beautiful place, good atmosphere, nice wine list. Clean bathrooms. Friendly staff. Only downside was the shrimp is from Asia. Read two articles recently on shrimp quality from Asia, not good, so went with the Atlantic Salmon instead. It was delicious. But I really wanted shrimp.
We were seated at the time of our reservation. We were celebrating our anniversary with our kids and were seated at a table overlooking the James by the window. Our reservation was at 6:15 and the sun was shining in on us. The temperature outside was 101 and we were a bit warm during dinner. Our waitress was wonderful. Drinks came quickly, as did our salads and entrees. The food was excellent. Two of us had stuffed shrimp, 2 of us had simply grilled rockfish with pineapple salsa and the other person had salmon with pineapple salsa. Everyone loved their dinners! Food was outstanding. The view was lovely, although we were sweating on the inside.
Visited the omelette bar on Sunday 1100 for brunch. Parking was worrisome due to no garage, no available street parking and ominous towing signs at the entrance to nearby parking areas. Omelets were tasty and made to order but a lack of ordering process resulted in my order being completed and served 15minutes after my fellow diners. The waitress was semi attentive but we were not in a hurry so the lengthy wait to cash out was tolerated. Decent river view but a bit out of the way.
I just wanted to thank the Boathouse staff for making our dinner a success. The restaurant was so incredibly accommodating, they really went above and beyond for us and I am so appreciative to their staff. Between accommodating two last minute additional guests who arrived without an RSVP, accommodating the drinks package and vegetarian food requests, early access to the room for a pre-meeting, the Boathouse is the very definition of hospitality. I could not have been more pleased with our experience at this restaurant. On top of all that, the food was delicious and the room was gorgeous!
Went to the Boathouse at Rocketts Landing for Brunch and was able to enjoy the outdoor deck on a beautiful day. The food was exceptional. Shrimp and grits and the Chesapeake Omelette were perfect. The only reason I am giving four stars is due to the lengthy wait at the omelette bar. Other than that, food, view and atmosphere are hard to beat!
