Really delicious food and great service. We loved the vibe here too. Salem has desperately needed a place like this.
Old fashions are done right at this location!! Best bourbon selection in town. Prices are as assumed for a specialty restaurant like this. The smell and atmosphere when you walk in smack you in the face, it’s awesome. Burnt ends are to die for when they are made as they are meant to be.
We tried this restaurant while staying at the Salem Motor Lofts and were very glad that we did. We got the pulled pork sandwiches (didn’t try any of the sides) and they were delicious. The meat was tender and juicy, I didn’t notice any issues with it being bland or not pulled well. The BBQ sauce was delicious, Carolina style with vinegar. The place was affordable and service was quick and friendly. I’d highly recommend giving this BBQ place a try.
I've gone twice now and the food has not been disappointing one time. Service was a bit slow but they were just opening so I cut them some slack for that! The potato salad, pulled pork and cornbread are all my favorite!
This is definitely not my favorite barbecue place. It's good, but it's not as good as my favorite, Small Batch, in Lynchburg, or even Mission.
The pulled pork was tasty, but not seasoned well, in my opinion. Also, it wasn't pulled well. There were lots of big chunks that I ended up cutting into smaller pieces.
The service was not good. When my son was offered a refill on his iced tea, he accepted. However, we were about ready to leave by the time it got filled up. Then, I asked for the check, and waited nearly ten minutes before I received that, too.
Would I eat there again? Maybe, but not if Mission is open.
By the way, my older son loved the place.
