“Let's start with the positives. Was greeted immediately upon getting to the counter. Slaw was fresh and crunchy. There were a couple of families and a couple eating at the restaurant on Easter Sunday 2024 so that was encouraging... The pulled pork was very bland and I didn't ask for or expect the bbq sauce that was drizzled on top. The mac and cheese and slaw was very bland as well. Grandma was working today so maybe the recipes were made to her tastes lol. That being said, I'd recommend this place for low sodium diets.”

“We enjoyed our experience on opening day. We were greeted at the door with warm smile . We were seated immediately. Restaurant was very clean. We ordered taco salad,warm yummy served with shredded chicken and ground beef . Out of this world. Also stuff Pablo with white Queso cheese . Service was excellent. Definitely found my favor Mexican restaurant. Highly recommend. Awesome 👍😎”

“This is my second time to MeMas and I've enjoyed each meal. The 1st meal was the chopped bbq meal (onion rings)...the other was the fish fry...It was enough for 2 meals. I will definitely be back...oh and that lemon cake...Looking forward to what the fall menu will bring.”

“I've never been to a Pizza Hut Express before, but I assume the only difference is the size of the restaurant, and the options available. I ordered 2 personal pan cheese pizzas and an order of bread sticks, which she said would take about 10 minutes, but I feel like I only waited maybe 5, and everything was delicious!! It was an unexpected treat on a VERY long trip back home to Florida!”

“I've been here twice. The first time dumb and dumber was working. I called my pizza in, arrived 20 minutes later and still had to wait 45 minutes! The second time one guy was working and he was pumping pizzas out left and right. He restored my faith in this location. Thank you sir!”

“Food came out hot and tasted pretty good. Servers were pleasant. There seemed to be a lot of them for such a small place. I've been here a few times over the last 13 years and it was nice to see so many tables full. Water refills were on spot. Prices were good. Floors were sticky, which is a pet peeve of mine. I think they use concentrated cleaners instead of diluting them as directed. That's a waste of money, not good for the equipment, or air quality, and leaves that stickiness. Overall, it was a pleasant meal.”

“Outstanding barbecue, cooked eastern NC style with a nice peppery finish. It’s always a good sign when you can smell the smoker as soon as you get out of your car. The sweat tea was also well-balanced; sweat but not too sweat. Finally, Cowlings has that nice, authentic family-owned vibe.”
