My kid and I were heading up to see if we could get a peek at Mt St Helens (sadly disappointed there due to cloud cover, unfortunately) and researched a bit before heading out from Vancouver. Thank goodness we did, as we were able to avoid the shady dive across the road and instead had a superb experience at the Lone Fir Cafe! Food was great, service was excellent and the gift shop is not to be missed! I'll be making it a point to visit here again on my next trip west!”

“Amazing Place with Great Farm-to-Table Food. While reservations are required, it is well worth taking the time to call ahead. This lovely place serves 20 people a night, 3 Nights a week. And the food you get really shows that it is cooked with a passion, and is very well suited to the setup they have. When you go in, there is no telling what will be on the menu, but you can rest assured that it is sourced as locally as possible, potentially even grown/raised by the owners themselves. Once it settled only 3/4 full, but was already on the road so couldn't turn back to get topped off. This is a nice Starbucks, but this was a poor experience.”

When I got the notification that a driver was on their way, I was worried that my drink would be gross from sitting for so long. I called the store and asked them to remake my order but they informed me that they don’t start their orders until the drivers get there so that it’s fresh when it’s delivered. “A good place for a bite to eat after visiting Johnston Ridge. They have a wrap around patio with outdoor seating that offers pleasant views of the North Fork Toutle River. The menu is mostly burgers, with some wraps and a couple other dishes. The burgers don't disappoint. The cobbler was also pretty good. Friendly staff as well. Prices are moderate, but it's the only place for 20 miles.”

“Food was ok at best, I ordered a number 8 combo with the meat being chicken and asked for no sour cream, food came out pretty fast, but had sour cream dollop on it, normally not a problem I just move it aside. But on this it was half on all my food. My enchilada was ground beef...meh! The restaurant was clean, didn't have to wait long to be seated, our drinks sat on the end of the table empty for about 10 minutes until they were offered to be refilled. Normally not to bad if they were busy, but they were not that busy. I really do not think it will be on my eating places rotation.”
