Amazing food, a few weaknesses in service. Confession time - I'd never had Filipino food. I went hoping to learn something about it, but our server didn't know what some of the items on the plates were called, and the entire experience was overly rushed. We were seated at 8:15, and the kitchen did last call for food at 8:30 (a Monday night). That shouldn't ever happen to another party, IMO. Reservations are getting difficult to find already because the food is freaking phenomenal, but maybe make the last reservation at 8 to allow more time for appetizers and education and decision-making and socializing with friends for a meal that approaches $100 (with tip) a person? There was also a spot on the reservation to indicate special events, and I did, as someone in our party had a birthday. There was no acknowledgement of that at all.
Please understand - I'm not trying to be harsh. These issues are easily corrected, and I hope they are, 'cause THE FOOD, Y'ALL! And THE DRINKS!
Loved this place. The staff were very friendly and the bar was where we ended up sitting. Place just opened recently so it was hard to get a table reservation ahead of time (understandable). They were pretty busy so again, understandable, when we didn't get anyone to pickup when we called. I went with two friends and we shared the oxtail Stew, lumpiang, papaya salad, and duck confit. Everything was delicious and I especially was a fan of the oxtail. The cocktails were a little pricey but delicious. They have an use cocktail which I didn't try but my other two friends got and loved.
Loved every bite! Dined with a table full of friends and ordered everything on the menu, and the results were delicious and innovative takes on traditional Philippine dishes. Our gang looks forward to returning for another round, but will save room for dessert next time!
I had a great meal at Bunsoy. The food was delicious, the cocktails were unique and tasted great. The staff was really friendly and attentive. There was never a long wait for food or drinks. Our waiter did a great job of getting our appetizers in early while we were still deciding on entrees.
The only feedback I have to give is that it would be nice to be given a knife(I had to cut my porchetta with a spoon) and personal plates to make sharing easier. Minor things, and not a big deal given that you all just opened.
Amazing experience at Bunsoy tonight! The drinks were unique and fresh, and took you to another place, and the food was fast, tasty and one of a kind. Come for the ambiance and stay for the friendly company. Thanks for a great night out!
