Had a fantastic experience last night at the matador. Not only was everyone welcoming, and exceptionally friendly, but their happy hour menu is the best in the city! I will highly recommend for anyone looking for their new favorite spot in the city, as it will be my go to from now own!
Props to a great team and 5 star service!
The Matador is an all time favorite spot of mine, friends and I have been going for years
Before we get any further into the review I highly recommend you go out for late night happy hour (10 to close) and get yourself a nice drink and five, yes FIVE dollar nacho plate. The nachos here are delicious and plentiful for such a great price!
Other than nachos, the food here is made very well, whether you get tacos or some beans and rice, it is all delicious.
It is a very very cozy spot and lowly lit later in the evening, usually high volume on the weekends and prime dinner hours, but the max I've waited is 30 minutes.
Good snappy service at the bar, looks like they had the right amount of people despite the brisk business they were doing. Bar tenders seemed happy and got along with the servers. Food came out quick and correct. Layout of the bar into the front door area is kind of awkward, you can tell they're trying to fit as many people as possible in the space.
We sit at the bar nowadays to get prompt service. The Bartenders are very social most of the time, I think they've only been distant a couple times. We love to come here for Happy Hour once or twice a month!
One of the best Happy Hours in Seattle, price-wise! $5 for a huge plate of nachos that will fill you and a friend up and leave plenty to spare. Creative margaritas and a wide selection of tequila/mezcal to mix or drink neat. There are two happy hours, a "normal" one and a "late-night" one, so multiple opportunities to fill up on good grub. The fire pit is a nice way to warm up in winter, also.
