Murphy's, your locks Wallingford Irish bar, is usually a big favorite with young adults. It's pretty big inside, and lots of nights has a live band/performance. Weekends gets packed in here, but because the ambiance is so eclectic inside, it's well worth it. Tables, chairs or couches, there's usually somewhere to sit or stand and drink a drink. Pricing here is pretty good for where they are at. The bartenders are pretty friendly as well, as long as you stay on their good side and don't act like a fool.
This place is delicious! I don't know how else to describe it. I got shepherds pie, my fiance got a Rueben sandwich, and we got cider and beer to go with each. The food here is on a different level than other Irish pubs in the area. Completely recommend!!
A neighborhood gem! So often a neighborhood Irish bar will leave you wanting more from their food selection. Not Murphy's! This place is wonderful. It feels like home. The food is fantastic and warming/comforting. The staff is welcoming, and you leave wanting to come back again soon. It makes sense the place has been a Wallingford cornerstone for so long.
Met a lovely woman and her dog at Murphy's . she's from DC and says she would never live on the east coast again. No dogs allowed inside restaurants/bars there!
I walked there with my husband. They make a hot toddy worth drinking! And the French onion soup was so good!
Just stopped in to start off this Memorial Day Weekend. I've been coming here with a friend for over 10 years very occasionally. We ordered some happy hour chicken wings and they were pretty nice. The burger and fries were addicting. My blue cheese salad with chicken was so yummy I ate the whole thing. This place holds some very special memories for me.
