I now have a new world travelled favorite fish’n chips. Cod was fresh and flaky with perfect flavor. The breading was crunchy and tasty, yet not so tasty to over power the cod. Finally it wasn’t greasy. Not puddle of greasy. Not greasy buildup on the food beneath. And it was hot so they didn’t sit or drain endlessly.

We also had the fish tacos which had the same, yet a bit smaller portion, fish. Very good. The desserts were very good as well.

I recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and a great atmosphere.

    Dang that fish was good.

The Harbour Public House was one of my favorite lunch stops when I lived in Issaquah, WA. The trip to Bainbridge Island was just a quick ferry hop away, and it was always fun to explore the numerous shops on the island. One of the things I loved most about this restaurant was the unique daily menu specials. The curry seafood chowder was one of the most memorable dishes I've had there.

Beautiful venue with spectacular views. Staff was friendly, fast and helpful. Had the Alaskan cod and fries which was delicious. There was a tempting beer list as well that we didn't sample (this time). Highly recommended.

Love the location of this historical building on the water front of beautiful Bainbridge Island. Locally sourced food and beer. Unfortunately not a spot for kids but very accommodating for adults. Came in with an eight top last night for “slurpy hour”! Great oysters are available there. Our server Rose was very down to earth, efficient and attentive. I will be back often.

Overall review: The food was amazing, and I would have given 5 stars, but the bartender had a rather rude conversation about us with another customer, which threw off the experience somewhat.

My husband and I stopped on our way home from Seattle last weekend as a part of our birthday celebrations. I was blown away by the clam chowder (probably the best I've ever had), and really liked the calamari as well. The chowder was piping hot, full of potatoes and goodness, broth was amazing, and it was piled high with mussels on top and the pat of butter was a really good touch. Highly recommend getting the bread with your chowder and dipping it. The calamari was better than average. They use bigger pieces than most places, so the calamari itself was the star of the plate rather than the fry batter. My husband liked it as well but didn't love the bigger pieces- guess that's a personal taste thing. We also ordered oyster shooters, which were just okay but they're a fun experience. Drinks were great and we'll definitely go back for the food.

The only uncomfortable part of our experience was hearing the bartender joking about how we looked underage with one of her bar customers while we sat down- we're both 22, and yes, we look young, but it never feels good to be talked about, especially by your server and another customer in the restaurant. After the conversation she came over and ID'd us first thing. Other than that the service itself was fine.
