Gusto Mo

Always a pleasure to eat here. Very kind staff and nice establishment and great food. Reminds me of home. Great prices and good portions. Never a disappointment. Would recommend to anyone who loves a good Filipino dish.

A friend of mine mentioned Gusto Mo Restaurant a couple of months ago, she hadn't tried it but wanted to. Today I was looking for a place for lunch, and Gusto Mo's came to mind. For people who aren't familiar with this restaurant, it is Philippine Cuisine.
The first thing I noticed about this quaint little restaurant is how tidy, and clean everything looked. Not many tables, but it looked as though counter seating was also available. Maryann was quick on greeting me and telling me I could sit where ever I wanted.
I love their menu, plenty of items to choose from without the feeling of being overwhelmed.
Not extremely hungry I asked Maryanne for a recommendation of something more like an appetizer, she quickly recommended the Lumpia (Lumpia Shanghai) that they make in-house. That was perfect! Four pieces of lumpia filled with Pork, vegetables, rice noodles all wrapped up with rice paper and deep-fried. Although I rarely eat anything deep-fried, one has to splurge now and again.
Let me say their lumpia was magnificent — decent size, with a crispy golden outer layer, the filling; delectable and flavorful, served with sweet chili sauce. Although I could have polished off all four pieces, I wanted my husband to try, so I spared one of the pieces of lumpia for him. (By the way, he said even cold it was awesome.)
Sitting and looking around, I noticed rather quickly how this little restaurant became filled up.
Maryanne was the server; she was prompt, friendly, and approachable.

Gusto Mo's location is Silverdale Way, near the bowling alley across Myhre Road. This restaurant has ample parking that shares with several other businesses, including a Bank, Japanese Restaurant, a Vietnamese Restaurant as well as Kaiser Eye Care and a few others. If you are on Silverdale Way looking for it and you blink you may miss it; best turn in to 1st Security Bank.
I see myself returning (soon) along with my husband to splurge on something else they offer.
So, if you want excellent lumpia, you have to try Gusto Mo Cuisine of the Philippines.

Halo Halo was a treat for my mother and I while waiting for our to go order. This was our first visit, will have to dine in next time! The staff are friendly and welcoming. ????????????????????
