I received a restaurant.com voucher for this place, so I figured it would be a good excuse to check it out. Driving up, it's kind of a hole-in-the-wall place, but traditionally, those make for good places to eat. It's street parking, but I didn't have trouble finding a spot within a block of the restaurant. As soon as I walked in, there was an older woman sitting at a table who greeted me and was very friendly. Maybe she's the owner? Anyhow, the staff took my order and got my food (it was a take-out order) pretty quickly. They were all very nice. There is seating inside, but again, we wanted take out. So, the food... we order beef brisket BBQ and pulled pork BBQ. The pork was awesome! The beef was pretty good... not as meaty as I tend to prefer, but still really good. For sides, we had baked beans (great), potato salad (great) and mac & cheese (pretty good). So, overall, definitely worth a stop on in, and we definitely plan on going back.
Absolutely delicious! We got the rib sandwich and the meat sampler platter along with corn bread, sweet potato pie, and peach cobbler. I realized about two bites in to the ribs that we didn't get enough corn bread, so make sure to get extra!
The medium sauce was spicy and tangy and meant by the time I got to the sweet potato pie I was ready for it. And it was amazing. We haven't had the cobbler yet, but I am really looking forward to it.
Delicious food, friendly staff, quaint & cozy lil' location and reasonably priced. So glad I chose to have dinner here.
